Sites 4 Students - Zoho and Open Office

Hi,

Last Blog was a WHOOPS.

Today I selected 2 sites from Sites 4 Students. My impression on Zoho is that its a great free site for students. The students can do documents, link to a blog, add tags, collaborate and more. Excellent site and I believe the way it is designed young people will feel comfortable and confident and use these wonderful site.
I also selected Open Office to view. The site looks nice but seems to be more professional in appearance. I did like the look of Open Office but believe Zoho is more user friendly.

Twitter and Tweet -

Hi,

Today, I twittered and tweeted and enjoyed myself. Probably, twitter is not going to be needed to communicate with each other here at the library.
I also did Sharepoint today and from what I saw and practiced , Twitter may not be necessary, however twitter has been reported as being a friendly way to meet, greet and get to know others. So, I'm still a bit on the fence about Twitter .

Social Networking (Facebook)

Hi,

Bob and I again got together and worked on Face Book.

Social Networking for the Library is another avenue to reach people and give them information and perhaps introduce our libraries as new and inventive systems. Libraries of the past are not the libraries of today and that information may hlep to bring people into libraries to see for themselves what a difference a library can make in their desire to be life long learners.

Library Thing

Hi,

I just met with Bob and set up my Library Thing account and I have created (with the help of the intelligent, helpful Bob) a widgett to share books on my blog that I have chosen and posted on my Library Thing account. Thse samples of books that will appear on my Blog will be books I have read and or hope to read. I will also have books by certain authors. Library Thing is user friendly and I believe I will enjoy this site.

Bye for now,

Judi
